imac i5 anno 2009 : memory question

At the moment I have 4 GB ram ...
what if I put 4 GB extra in it ...

When / what / how will I see the difference?
Is it worth to do it ?
Just have my imac 2 weeks .. love it so much !
 
If you do a lot multitasking, it will. Take a look at your RAM usage with Activity Monitor, take a look at Page Outs and Ins, also at the swap file size. If you have a lot Page Outs, more RAM is needed
