iMac i7 intel machine used as a TV monitor

27-inch models also support input from external DisplayPort sources (adapters sold separately)

If that's not the model you have, then you'll have to buy a convertor box, but either way it's totally possible.

Elgato EyeTV 250 Plus TV Tuner - 10020780

for about $25 more this unit sounds amazing.
