imac install discs and clamshell

Would imac G5 Panther 10.3.5 installation discs install ok on a G3 clamshell?

I am trying to upgrade os9 on the clamshell to osx so what is the easy and cheapest option to do this?

Nope... they won't work. The original install disks that come with macs will only work on the model they came with. Your best bet is probably to buy panther on ebay.
