Question,

Can you replace the core duo processors in the intel imac's with a core 2 duo processor?

Has anyone done this yet? I'm not interested at all right yet, but later next year I will be once leopard comes public.

Actually if you want Merom that badly it'd be more worthwhile to sell your old iMac and get a new one.

The C2D will probably set you back $300 or so (probably much less in the future though), and you end up with a machine that has no warranty.

Well what they said. I'm going to hold out until next year though at least. Socket M Merom chips will be cheaper. I won't have to worry about my warranty either when it expires.
