Apple's default audio drivers (for Windows) for the built-in speakers on the iMac make them sound horrible, they have way too much bass, whereas in OS X they sound great. Why is this? Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi, I'm curious. I'm on the i7 27" iMac. I got Windows 7 in on Boot Camp, but can't get audio from the internal speakers at all. Just get a red light from the headphone jack.

I've updated the drivers with the recent update for Boot Camp to support Win 7. No luck.

Did you have any problems?

solution is easy ......... just use osx then :)

sorry i know you gamers want sound too , as i did hear the sound of the imac 27 " and i somehow think there is no improvement in sound since the iMac g5
so just get some bose companion 5 and all sorted then

just bought some for my iMac g3 , and i can recommend the bose companion 5, they offer really great sound :)
