After just over a month of waiting, it has finally arrived. I opened it last night but had to get on with some uni work so couldn't test it out properly. At the moment I'm giving it a proper test and it's performing WONDERFULLY!

Right this second I have the following going on.

Macbook is feeding a DVD to the iMac Hard Drive using Mactheripper.

iMac is loading another DVD into the same folder on the HDD Using Mactheripper.

EyeTV Is running on a second display.

Handbrake is churning through two DVD's copied earlier into the same folder in use above. It is encoding to standard iphone format. Current Frame Rate is averaging 248 fps. The TV window is running as smooth as and each MTR encode is taking approx half an hour. I also have aMSN running no problems. iCal and Mail are also open but not in use.

All "eight" cores are in use, with about 78 - 86 percent use. Handbrake is taking circa 600% in activity monitor.

Of my eight GB RAM 1 is in use, one is wired, 0.75 is inactive and over 5 is sitting free.

Temps are as follows....

Ambient 21.
CPU 67.
GPU Diode / Heatsink 65/63.
Mem Controller 53.
Optical Drive 43.
PSU 73.

All temperatures are in degrees celcius.

Fans are around the 1000rpm mark.

All in all, PLENTY powerful enough for all my needs. Not only that, but it can handle all of my needs pretty much at the SAME TIME.

Over all I'm very happy with the new computer. The screen is perfect. I've had no other problems that have been mentioned on here so it seems either Apple have sorted them all out or i got lucky.

If anyone wants to know anything else then let me know :).

Congratulations! What a machine.
Your post seemed to me to have the air of a typical briefing of an undercover agent or spy. "When you come down there you will notice a tiny window, open the window and take the key attached to the other side. You'll then walk to the corner of Chesterton Road where you'll be picked up by Laurette, your companion in this mission. Don't forget: the code word is 'muffin'. Everything clear?"
Anyway let us hope the widely feared issues with the iMacs have been ironed out and solved. In which week was your iMac manufactured if I may ask? I believe this is documented by the third and fourth number from the left in the serial code, if I'm not mistaken.
