Hi guys! First off, so you guys know I'm not just trying to be lazy and ask you
, I have tried calling Apple Support, and they said I'd have to bring it to the Apple Store. Well, I'm away at school right now, and likely won't be able to go home for at least a couple weeks, and so I'm curious.
Plus, I don't feel like lugging my Mac back home if I don't have to.
Anyway, about three weeks ago, I downloaded a screensaver that displays the time in words. When I got to my desktop and loaded up Firefox, I noticed all the words were clearly visable, like "burn-in". Of course, I flipped out, cause I was almost certain that LCDs didn't get burn-in. Turns out, it seems like it's a case of image retention, and it goes away after a couple hours.
So, I got a different screensaver, and figured I'd be done with it. Nope. Now I notice my desktop items behind every app I open. And it's a huge pain when I'm working on photos zoomed-in in Photoshop.
Basically, this is a huge distraction, and is preventing me from doing my work on photos (for school), and is just an overall crappy distraction.
Now, it doesn't seem like this is a common problem. So, could I have a "bad" LCD? That doesn't make sense? Can they replace the screen? Would they offer me a refurb'd model of what I own. A newer model? I don't know.... I don't care to get anything "extra", I just want the distraction to go away.
I did extend my Applecare until 2011, so I should be covered. But what can they do?
Thanks!
Matt
