Imac Keyboard alternatives?

As you all have probably figured out, the small wireless keyboard that ships with the Imac is pretty useless....especially if you Edit on the machine.
I have been looking around and remembered that the old G5 wireless keyboard was pretty solid and great to use.

now, will this one work without troubles on the new Imac?
Or are there know compatibility issues?

What are you typing/working with...any good alternatives out there?

I like mine! After many many years on apple laptops it is ideal! ]

that keyboard will work fine if it is Bluetooth

Yeah that one looks good..but probably in the 100 bucks range.
I could get the one i linked for 29 euros (38 $) which is a decent price

So i guess the technology was always blue-tooth so if i understand you correctly the Keyboard should connect with no problem?

It can be good to have a wired keyboard. Extra usb connections that are easily accessible are nice, as is never having to buy batteries. Plus some of those big old clunky keyboards are actually nice to type on. And cheap.

I use both white Apple keyboard (wired and wireless) on my imac alu. They work perfectly fine.

I see my setup is gaining popularity (that's my pic BTW). I definately think the Dinovo Mac Edition is the best keyboard for iMac. They have matching styles and, at least for me, Dinovo is much more comfortable and ergonomic than Apple's keyboard.

I hear this Dinovo can be a bit expensive but here in Finland there is an on-going sale: it costs only like $33.

I see no problem with the batteries. I've used this iMac over a month now and there is no sign of the batteries going empty (got the wireless Logitech Dinovo Mac Edition keyboard).

OP, I've been looking for the same. Not a dedicated search, but keeping my eyes open for good options. Unfortunately, I keep coming across the same two or three. The diNovo mentioned above, and the Macally BTKey bluetooth model seem to be recommended on a regular basis.

I'd like something with at least one USB port, which of course means I need a corded keyboard. The wife wants something a little more ergonomic, similar to the Microsoft Wave that she has at work. I've yet to find a Mac-specific keyboard that has both.

I like using the new wired keyboard for this very reason. If I need to plug something in via USB, it is much easier to plug it into the keyboard, then try fitting the plug in the back of the iMac.

Well I'm buying a Belkin 7-port USB-hub for my iMac so that solves that issue. I personally would not want a keyboard with a USB slot. I think the whole point of having a wireless keyboard is to make your desktop not messy-looking -- and cables usually make desktops look messy.

I use the Logitech Wave Pro and love it...it even has the Mac symbols on the keys left of the space bar.

I too like the wired keyboard from Apple. I mainly bought it for the keypad and not dealing with batteries. The extra usb ports are nice and I find myself using them more then the ones on the back of the iMac.

The dinovo keyboard is on Amazon.com right now for $40. I'm wondering, for anyone who owns one .... can the silver plate at the bottom be taken off? My desk is not very deep so I need a keyboard that doesn't take up much space.

No it cannot. Even though it looks detachable from the top, the bottom is solid.

Yes, all the buttons work perfectly. To be honest, I have no idea why this keyboard is not more popular. I do understand that price in the States is a lot higher than what I paid for it in Finland (an on-going deal of 33 bucks). I mean this about the most comfortable, compact and stylish keyboard I have ever used. One thing I hate about some keyboards is that they have these buttons that nobody (at least not me) uses. This keyboard has no unnecessary buttons.
