I will shortly be performing major surgery on this beast in order to replace the optical drive and install a new CPU.
The new CPU is a 1333MHz E8500.
The question is, and I can find absolutely no definitive answer to this: if this model is running such a processor, does it switch up the system bus to match, or not?
If it does, I can then install 1333MHz RAM sticks. If not, I must stick with 1066MHz. But where is the correct answer, if there is one?

I guess 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMM are rarer than 1333MHz ones nowadays.

1066 is just as easy to get here. Just wanted to know if the system will accept them once the CPU is changed. It won't accept them at the moment.
