Hello,

As the titles explains... Is the Ati 4850 GPU in the 27" iMac's the desktop version or the mobility version?

Regards

why does it matter?

what are you going to be using your new iMac for that the slight difference between the two would make a difference?

Ah, I see. They determine that the Device ID of the 4850 GPU is 0x944a, which is known to be the mobile version. Too bad.

Dude, don't be a douche. The OP asked a question that matters to them.

Yes it is a mobile version unfortunately. :(

Unfortunately why?

Can you please explain why it would make a difference when I open Firefox or iPhoto or Mail that I would matter?

OP, what kind of Mac are you using now?

I see this question like this:
I want to buy a new Corvette, and Im a very law abiding person, I will never drive over 65. Does the new Corvette Z have 300 or 325 HP?
Unfortunately, it only has 300 HP. That sucks? What? Huh?
