iMac (late 2009) and External Monitor - Will it Manage it?

Hello guys,

I have an iMac 21.5" (late 2009) [NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB], and I was wondering if and how it would manage an external monitor.
I have a full HD 1920x1080 monitor and also a 1280x1024 monitor.

Ideally I would like to have the 1920x1080 monitor hooked but I don't know whether it might be too graphically intensive.

What do you guys and girls think?
