Hi all - I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on a late 2015 iMac I purchased second hand. The kits from OWC for this particular model have a lot of negative reviews, saying that the upgrade has caused kernel panics, or flat out doesn't work with this model.

I typically see almost universally positive review on OWC RAM upgrades, so I was wondering if there was anything I should be aware of before purchasing.

Thank you in advance!

I always chose Crucial/Kingston RAM. Verified and guaranteed compatibility, best in class performance, and they make their own chips. Never had any, any, any trouble with Crucial or Kingston as PC or Mac upgrades.

I usually buy whatever is cheapest from newegg or amazon. I've bought Hynix, Crucial, Kingston, etc. all without any problems for different machines.

Over 30 years, I've only ever had one set that caused Kernel Panics and that may have been to me not pairing the new sticks correctly.
