Well guys...

I see a lot of threads about problems and disappointments around, and I just have to say that I'm in love with my new 24" iMac!
I just installed 4GB of RAM and it flies! Incredible how big the performance difference is!

...and.....

today I went to University as usual, turned on my Macbook and to my surprise, there was the "Shared" section on the finder window!! Back to my Mac works beautifully! I could stream songs and lunch a couple of programs on my Home mac! :) I have to say that it was a bit slow though!

Anyhow.....I am very happy!

E.

Love is a word that sums up my feelings to my new iMac as well.

And I haven't even upgraded my RAM yet! Best is yet to come!

I am with you, I absolutely love my 24" iMac!

My 4GB arrives tomorrow. Could you elaborate on how the performance has increased? What exactly have you noticed?

Thanks!

Well, I'm glad other people are in love like me!

The performance has increased in the fact that there's no waiting time for application to lunch! Its almost instantaneous! And of course it just feels much more snappier!!

:)

Yes, I am in the same boat as you all... I have had my 20" Alu iMac for almost 2 months now and have had little to no complaints. Bought, an extra 1GB stick from www.crucial.com and haven't looked back.

However, it did take some time for me to fall in love with the "lighter" screen. Just a little calibration took care of that though!

Oh oh oh.. I want to gush too!

I am in love with my iMac too! i got the 20" 2.8Ghz with 750 Gb HDD & maxed out the RAM at 4GB. I put a 1TB external on FW 800 for Time Machine.

Man is this thing slick! Seriously, it flies. Web pages even load faster somehow since I went from wired to wireless (has got to be Safari 3 rendering better) internet.

I wasn't in love with the idea of a glossy screen, but once the computer is on you don't notice it. I mean, my iPod is technically a glossy screen too and it doesn't bug me either. i was worried over nothing.

For comparisons sake, I came from a G4 (MDD) with dual 1 Ghz and I think 2 GB of RAM (?). So there is no one factor that I can point to and say "this is why it's so much better"... it's the while jump from PC to Intel AND the jump in speed, AND the new OS, AND the bigger RAM... well, you get the idea.

Anyway, I'm LOVING this new Mac. Best purchase ever.

Well, I bought the original 24" iMac almost a year ago ...gotta say I have never liked any other computer this much!
