Hi Guys, need some advice. What's the better choice to go for on a M1 iMac. A 7core GPU with 16GB RAM or 8core GPU with 8GB RAM. The SSD is 512GB for both. I am no power user. Occasionally editing some videos on MacOS software or other consumer grade software.

I have an offer where they are priced almost identical and not sure what to choose. Both come with keyboards with TouchID, so the only real difference is that the 7core GPU has only two USB ports, no Ethernet, 1 cooling fan only... I was wondering what is the better choice.

Cheers, T.

You would regret it anyhow, when the new iMac M1x or M2 come out.
Light user will not notice the difference between 7-core GPU and 8 core GPU.
But lazy users (opening a lot of things at the same time) will feel the difference of RAM volume very soon.

I would definitely go 16GB...If you intend to use this Mac for more than 4 years or so, future-proof it.

I recommend that you DO NOT buy ANY m-series Mac (iMac or otherwise) UNLESS it has 16gb of RAM installed...
