Hello,

A year after I bought my iBook I decided to get an iMac (yesterday) and so far I'm loving it. The remote control / media center has been my best friend in the last 24 hours showing it off to my friends and familly. Today I took a couple of Data-DVDs containing short gaming movies (World of Warcraft, anyone? :)) and copied them on my harddrive so I could watch them within the media center. I had to download Windows Media Player for mac, since the quicktime addons to read wmv files doesn't work on intel-mac yet. I can now watch my WMV files with no problem (beside the fact that it's in windows media player.. ) but there's something wrong with the media center:

When I open the media center I can only see the DiVX, XViD and Quicktime files, none of the wmv appears on the list.

I was wondering if there's a way to do that? I'm pretty sure the wmv components for quicktime would fix this, but for now I can't install them. Is there an alternative? Anybody watching wmv files from media center?

Thanks alot!

I'm assuming you are referring to Front Row..

Why can't you install the components ?

Sorry, yes I was refering to front row. From Microsoft's website I wanted to download "Flip4Mac" (I think) but the site says it does not support Intel-based Macs yet

Try http://www.popwire.com

They have a WMV component that's a UB
Trying right now, I'll be back with news ;) Thanks!

Update: I installed the popwire wmv components. Quicktime cannot play the files ("Unable to open file") but front row plays them fine. I only have a couple of WMV for the moment but they all seems to work.

Thanks alot :D
