iMac-Memory Installation

I am having trouble installing memory in my new iMac 20". On the empty slot, the memory wont go in all the way or click. I noticed that the black ribbon goes all the way back and is covering part of connection point for memory. The other side is not like that when I take the memory out. Do I have a defective iMac?

Just exchanged the computer no problems at the apple store. They did not even bother opening up my old iMac box and just took my word for it. I was pretty surprised. I installed ram into the new iMac and it installed easily. Now I watching leopard install.
