iMac memory = MBP memory?

I just got my 2.4 mbp and bought 4 megs of RAM from OWC. I was thinking about selling the original 2 megs, when I decided to check my 2.16 iMac's hardware profile. Lo and behold the RAM profile is exactly the same! Is this true? I always thought laptop and desktop memory were different due to size. Can I upgrade my iMac from 1 MB to 2 MB???

Yes, the RAM is the same in the current iMacs/MBP. The iMac uses an Intel mobile processor (it's basically the same hardware as the MBP) which is the reason why.
