I am thinking about upgrading the memory in both my Blackbook and my iMac 20" ICD. I have seen some post's regarding upgrading the memory in a MB, not too many on the iMac. So I have two questions:

1. How do you change the memory in an iMac? Is it user doable?

2. What is the best type and source for memory for both my iMac and MB Black? ( Both currently have 1 Gig DDR2 SDRAM on 2/512 sticks, looking to max out at 2 Gigs)

I found this guide for upgrading the iMac's RAM on Google.

Everyone in the reviews seems to be happy with this RAM from newegg. Newegg also has a great return policy if anything is wrong with the RAM.

Hey there,

Yes, you can install the memory, it's pretty easy.

I bought 1GB for my G5 17" from datamem.com for $85 with 1 year warranty (lifetime warranty is around $95) and it's working flawless.

I ran memtest and reported 0 errors, I'm very happy with their memory, you should consider it.

Will this memory work with both the iMac and the MB? Or do I need to get a seperate type for each?
