Hello all, I am upgrading my iMac from a 2008 20" iMac to a 2009 21.5" iMac. My question is, my old iMac took 800MHz memory and my new one takes 1066MHz memory, is there a big difference in the speed of the memory. I guess what I am wondering is will my new computer be faster than my old iMac
with this faster ram?

The CPU might be slightly faster but I don't know if the DDR3 ram in the new iMac is significantly faster than the DD2 ram in the older iMac. I don't think so. Also depends on the GPU in the old Mac (most likely ATI HD2600) vs. the newer iMac which has either the nvidia 9400m (bleah :p) or the ATI 4670 (better). Depending on the app or game you may or may not see a significant increase in performance.

Cheers,
