Hey folks. My iMac built-in mic works fine in OS X, however it is incredibly quiet when using it in XP with Boot Camp. I know it detects sound because I used the Test Hardware option in Control Panel to test it out, and running my finger over the mic show some detection of sound, but even talking very loudly, it recognizes nothing.

I've cranked up any sound option relating to the input that I can, and still I get nothing. It's not important enough to me that I'm going to reinstall Windows, and I don't see why the drivers would not be installed properly, but who knows.

Is there any other fix to this? Sorry if I missed a similar post in my search.

I hate to say this but i get this all the time on my vista editing suite with standard microphone.

I believe its to do with the way the device is powered however i mite be wrong with that one. I was looking to use the voice recognition on vista (which i hate to say is far superior than Leopards :( )

Check all the drivers are up to date otherwise i think ur stuck with it!
