I have an 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac and my mini dvi port is totally busted. I've troubleshooted all I can: 2 mini-dvi to hdmi cables, 1 mini-dvi to vga cable, 2 separate hdmi cables, hooked up to a samsung and an lg monitor/tv -- all of which work fine when using my black MacBook. On the iMac, the screen turns blue for a second then back to normal desktop. The monitors/tvs show "no signal"

So anybody else have this issue? Please help.

Same here - same iMac model. Just bought a mini dvi to hdmi adaptor. Tried different hdmi cables etc. iMac thinks it's connected cos it shows 'Philips FTV' when I open display preferences. Like you, screen goes blue for a second when I connect the cables but nothing on the TV, although it did work for half an hour when I first connected it. Then it stopped working. Disconnected/restarted mac/TV. Came back for a few minutes then nothing? Works every time when I connect same adaptor/hdmi cable to my Macbook.
Off to local Mac fixer tomorrow. Think there is some kind of hardware issue.
