You would need to replace the drive with a portable HD DVD drive, but if it's anything like blue ray, you won't be able to watch HD DVDs under OS X, but you may be able to read the disc contents.

You realise HD DVD lost the format war a long time ago right?

As above.. the best HD-DVD drive for the mac is the Xbox360 one. OS X will read it natively. You can Pick one up on Ebay for £20.

To watch Films you will need to download and install a 3rd party software, which i cannot help you with.

HD-DVD is a dead format though i wouldnt bother if i was you. Eventually Mac will work with BD maybe the software will come included with SL and if ya plug in a External drive you get BD... Here's hopin

if you can find an external USB/FW drive, then yes it will work!! it WONT be able to play movies, OSX currently only supports reading and writing DATA discs (for both HD-DVD and BD disks).

if you want an internal drive, then you will have to pay a LOT more because the mini uses laptop components. wouldnt be as fast either.
