I'm trying to find of a way to get a second monitor in my bedroom that mirror my iMac in my living room, so I can lie in bed while watching movies and such. The two rooms are fairly close, but I'd still likely need 4-5 meters of cable. Looking around, USB C to USB C cables are quite expensive at that length. DisplayPort to USB C don't do that length unless it's an unbranded one which I don't really trust.

Has anyone done something like this and do you have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this?
I've seen someone mention a cat5 cable - is it possible to use that?

monoprice sells 50ft active hdmi cables. The longer versions don't support 60 Hz refresh rates.
