I just bought a 20inch refurbished new generation imac and figured the movies would be crystal clear and fun to watch. funny thing is they play much more vividly on my tv thats ten years old. I've also played videos from the web and their fine but just not as pristene as they seemed to be on my laptop. Is this normal? When i looked on old posts most people complained about the sound but not the picture quality. please help.

DVDs don't look too good on my 17-inch iMac at FULL size, but I think that is because of the higher resolution. Regular DVDs I believe are only 480p and so your computer monitor has a much higher resolution. DVDs look better on normal size though. Try stepping back from the computer while watching too.

HD trailers like those on the Apple should look better.
