For productivity I really need a minimum of two screens.
How does the current imac handle an external 5k screen? I want to have a two screen setup for productivity and if I pull for the imac I wan't both screens to have the same resolution. I do a lot of work on websites and often have 20+ tabs open. I do this currently on 10 year old PC with 2 x 24" (1920x1200) screens. The resolution is not quite enough to comfortable have four windows open side by side (2 on each screen)
I'm still inclined at this stage to await an update but every now and again I'm seeing fully spec'd 2015 imacs coming up on ebay for around half the new price which is pretty compelling!
The other option I suppose is pulling for the new MBP and maybe getting two 4k screens - but I already have a macbook 12 (2015) that is doing just fine for my mobility requirements. Also I suppose I can assume the standalone track pad / keyboard / mouse all work fine with the MBP..
