I have a new iMac running Sierra 10.12.6 and all of a sudden it is not prompting me for a password when I shut down then restart. It opens straight to the desktop.

I have restarted in "Safe" mode in an attempt to clear the problem, but still no request for password.

Thoughts appreciated.

Hi dianeoforegon,

Many thanks. I failed to click on Login Option when I checked earlier. Any ideas how it got switched from being off??? I've always required a password. Could my system be corrupted?

Thank you again and enjoy your Sunday,

Bill
