i have a 2010 3.2 Ghz HDD imac running Sierra and a while ago i wouldnt turn on-no chime-no noise completely dead-i brought it to my local guy and he was able to re-set a kind of fuse(?) and got it running again-awhile ago i had a brown-out at my place and now the same problem-seems the imac is very sensitive to power fluctuations and is getting "tripped"-my other imac on the opposite end of the room is a 2009 and no issues at all-has anyone experienced this? was there some bug about this particular year/type? incidentally-the faulty mac was connected to a power strip before and i was advised to plug it direst into the wall, but that didnt seem to help...my computer guy said just get a new one-so ill be starting that soon unless any recommendations? thanks!

Sounds like something with the power supply? This is such an old machine at this point. If it was me I'd buy a more recent used Mac instead of trying to track down whatever's broken.

yeah-youre right-i use this for music production and there are only certain years/OSX that work with certain versions of Garageband-the latest version of GB isnt as functional and user friendly as older versions which makes me have to do a compromise with everything but i will have to get a newer model and learn a different GB version...
