I have a Mid 2010 iMac 27 inch and suddenly I went to power it on but it keeps beeping with the apple chime continuously every couple of seconds and it does not boot up. No boot screen just black screen. I checked ram but still same problem. Can anyone pls help

Try SMC reset and PRAM reset on power on. If you do not know how use google to find out.

Likely your GPU is gone letting you system enter a boot-chime loop. One cannot repair or identify such a problem remotely, you will need to get another similar iMac and replace parts one by one unless you find the culprit. Since the GPU is known to fails on all iMacs 2009-2011 it is the best bet. Check the link in the signature about iMacs.

I tried booting from an external drive but still the same problem. Black screen and chimes every couple of secs without stopping

If you have some experiences with hardware get a new metal AMD GPU and get into your replacement project.
Thousands started at the very same point. You may just get the old GPU out , to boot chime loop should vanish, unfortunately screen output will still be impossible. At least this will be a kind of proof the GPU is the root cause.
