iMac not displaying my iPhone

Hi,

I received my new iMac this morning and after getting everything over from my old MacBook I decided to update the songs on my iPhone but iTunes isn't displaying the iPhone. It is also doing this for my iPad which makes me think that it is something to do with the iMac. I have also tried USB memory sticks to make sure that the USB ports are ok and it also charges my iPhone.

Has anyone had this issue before and know how to resolve?

I had the same challenge with my new iMac.

Apple had me delete iTunes and then download iTunes. I had to complete this twice.

Working fine now.

I had to run Software Updates on my iMac before the iPhone appeared.

Have you ran all the updates?
