I recently bought an iMac with applecare on the online store. It said that my iMac would be auto enrolled with applecare. I check the status of coverage and it says I don't have applecare. It's saying I only have the standard 90 days of telephone support and one year of repair and service coverage. Is this a mistake or should I call apple to have this fixed?

Auto-enrolls can take several days to populate in Apple's systems. If you just got the computer today, wait about a week and re-check the coverage via the web. If it still does not show the extended coverage give them a call.

Thank you very much. I'll wait a couple weeks and then call apple if this stays the same.

My iMac that I received yesterday also wasn't auto enrolled when I checked. BUT - I did get the Applecare Protection Plan package (the CD box). Did you get yours? Inside of the package is your Applecare #.

All you have to do to register your iMac is go here: http://www.apple.com/support/applecare/welcome/ and enter in your Applecare # and iMac serial #.

I did it on yesterday, and my iMac shows as covered today.

I've heard of this happening before - it's happened to me!

My iPhone is covered by Applecare and some time ago, on reading of a similar experience, I checked on the Apple website. It indicated I didn't have AppleCare! I immediately 'phoned Apple, explained the situation and, on giving them my Registration Number and the date of the confirmation email, it was confirmed that my registration had, in fact been recorded. I was informed, much to my relief, that glitches can occasionally occur.

I did not get the Applecare package.

As has been explained, you can't register your AppleCare until you get the package which contains your registration number. If you purchased on line, no doubt it is in the post.

I did not get the Applecare package.

The Applecare package ships separately from the iMac (in my case the Applecare came UPS while the iMac came FedEx). If you go back to your order online, you should have separate tracking #'s for each package.

When you buy AppleCare with a new Mac all you get is a welcome letter and cd. No box to register. Just give them a call apple is awesome for support.
