iMac Optical Audio No Longer Working with HDMI

Hi everyone. I've had my iMac hooked up to my receiver for a year or so now, and its been working perfectly. The video is connected from the video out to an HDMI adaptor which connects to the receiver. Sound is going through the optical Audio port. The audio part of it just stopped working yesterday out of the blue. Nothing has changed in the set-up that I know of.

To make things weirder, the individual components I know are working just fine. If I disconnect the Video cable, the sound will play through to the receiver with no issues at all. The moment I reconnect it, the audio cuts out.

Any ideas.

I figured it out. My receiver somehow got set for the input source to be "auto". Not sure when that changed. I set it back to optical in. I guess because the video was coming through hdmi, it was expecting the audio to be coming from there as well. Not sure how it got changed, but its working.
