Im thinking of getting a new mac for logic pro and some photoshop/programming work.

Im torn between an imac and a macbook pro, as with the macbook pro I can easily take it to the music studio, whereas the 27inch imac might be a bit of trouble, would the macbook pro have trouble handling all the audio stuff in logic? I would be using a lot of tracks to make recordings.

Thanks

The "Pro" in MacBook Pro means it's a professional machine, built to run their professional apps, like Logic.

You would get more performance and storage from an iMac, but you'd be just fine with the MBP. I would get one with dedicated graphics.

Those programs will without a doubt run better on the IMac especially the Quad Cores. They're just all around better and faster machines. The only thing you have to ask yourself is wether or not you need the protability. I was debating the same thing as you until I realised that my current laptop barely ever moves anyway. I figured if I'm going to drop 2k on a machine, I might as well go for performance over protability.

Plus, Imacs aren't that hard to move either. If your going to work on some audio somewhere, packing it up isn't that much of a hassle...it's one plug in.
