iMac or macbook?

I'm split between buying a macbook or an iMac. In your opinion which one is better? I'm not spending more trhen 1600!

both thats the thing but IDK if I would bring it! I might just get the iMac but I don't travel too much I'm only 16 I only travel to flordia for in october for the world street nationals in america. I'll probably videotape and edit on the way home! IDK I'm still split. It will be a hard decision. Can't I just hook up an external screen so its like a computer?

Yup...you need the Apple "mini dvi to vga" connector but other than that it will work great with an external.

I say go with the Macbook because you will be kicking yourself when you realize you could really use the mobility...

yep....i was split with the same decision. i ended up with a macbook black and love it!!! i have a external monitor hooked up to it that works great...i would go with the macbook.

the only thing i'd add, is that the if you're doing video editing, you might want the dedicated graphics that imac offers, especially if you aren't going to be using it outside of the house much. you'll get more for less with the imac. but beyond that, only you can decide if the mobility or additional processing help with video is more important.

ok, I'm probably getting the black macbook! Its really sweet looking and I would use it alot to go to the beach and when I go to flordia! I might get the student discount with the nano. I'll give the nano to my sis becuase she only has a mini and its old and I already have a video! Who agrees I should get a macbook over an iMac. You think I would be happy with my decision? I do!

oh yeah! I'm getting the Macook black one! It will be a good transition from windows this is my first apple computer(i'm only 16) and i might get it off the MacMall website for 1400 instead of 1500! You think I should buy it there or off the official apple site. Or If I don't want any upgrades I'll just go to the apple store 45minutes from me and get it! WHat you guys think I should do?
