My Mac is a 2010 mid 27” iOS Mojave 13+. I maxed out memory w 16 meg. I also have an external hard drive. And an Ethernet connection. I just want to clean up and maybe reinstall everything. What I’m asking, is there a way to improve my experience w this old of Mac and iOS?
it works pretty good, sometimes Bluetooth won’t connect, just minor things! Just trying to maximize my experience for performance.

Actually your iMac can handle 32GB of memory, 4 x 8GB. 8GB was not about when it was released and the then maximum was 4 x 4GB. The best improvement you could make is to use an SSD which will be many times faster than a rotating platter drive. As the machine only has USB2, an internal install would be best if you are comfortable opening it up.

You do not use iOS, but operating system or OS. iOS is for iPhones etc.

I installed new internal hard drive a few years ago Also it says 16g is max memory 18527982-6BCF-4051-A6FA-A29406A93230.jpeg4E73A7B0-4E94-4677-ADF5-B2F74BC9E14A.jpeg2BEB04FD-5B97-4E68-A79B-5579D460458D.jpeg

If money doesn't matter, and you are a skillful guy:

1.) Try upgrading the CPU (maxed out at core i7-880 or Xeon X3480)
2.) Try upgrading the GPU (WX7100m) with a new 3 pipe heatsink
3.) Try upgrading the Wifi card + Bluetooth card
4.) Try installing Big Sur with the new GPU and wifi
5.) Go further and install USB 3.0. card.
7.) Go over confident and install eGPU to the MXM port.

They are all doable, but also have high risks that you will end up with a broken machine.
