I upgraded my iMac from an HDD to an SSD in a dual SSD configuration (2012 iMac).
Thus I have
SATA port 1: 860 evo 2TB (Macintosh HD)
SATA portt 2: 850 evo 1TB (BOOT CAMP)

I’m getting periodic hangs on the Mac. Also, running speed tests shows the 1TB 850 evo is faster than the 2TB 860 evo. This doesn’t make sense to me.

I have the configuration thus that Macintosh HD is on the HDD SATA cable, and the BOOT CAMP in the Fusion Drive weird m.2 but SATA adapter.

Perhaps I should switch this configuration around? Perhaps the 860 Evo 2TB is defective?

Both are SATA 3 before anyone asks.
