iMac - possible to move windows to the docks bar?

Hello!

Would it be possible to move windows to the "dock bar" when I click on another window? I know it is possible to move it to the docks when we click on the yellow "-" button, but what I want is that it automatically puts itself to the dock when I navigate away from a window. Just like in Windows. Like I want all my windows to be in the docks. It's very annoying having to search for the opened windows. Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the Mac.

I think what you're saying is that it's annoying to have to search through all your open windows — and you'd rather just have a way to access the window via the Dock. This already possible, but correct me if this isn't what you're looking for:

Basically, whenever you have an open application, you can access it's windows by clicking an icon on the Dock. So, let's say I have Safari open. And iTunes open. And iCal open. And let's say I want to switch between Safari and iTunes — I can just click the icon in the Dock and it will switch to that window.

Now, if you have multiple windows open in one application... Say, if you have three Safari windows open, you can click and hold down the mouse button on the Safari icon, which will allow you to choose the window you want to see. Here's a great article (with a video) that explains this further (and probably better).

Another alternative is to press the "Exposé" key on your keyboard, which will show you ALL the open windows for ALL applications at one time.

You can also use the familiar "ALT+TAB" from Windows, but just substitute the ALT key with the CMD (apple) key.
