With every release of a new imac, there have been better specs and better hardware. Does this also come with a more expensive price tag?

I am in the market for an imac and with the speculation on the forum with a new one just around the corner, I am in two minds about buying now or waiting.

The question is, when a new model is released, on the average, does the price increase due to newer and better specifications??

Thanks in advance!

Read these forums frequently enough you see there is ALWAYS a new iMac just around the corner.

As with any computer if you have a need today then order it. All of the manufacturer's release new products with improved specifications, they can't increase prices by much (if any) because most people won't see any perceived value.

So this begs the question, when will Apple release new iMacs or for that matter any other product? No one here knows, remember this forum isn't called MacRumors for nothing.

Thanks for the reply. Answers my question.

I don't have a need for an imac, but would want one. I just thought that, if the prices increased with a new release, then buying one now would be justified. But since the prices are the same and the specs would be slightly better, I am just going to wait.

Great forum! I got my first mac last month due to this forum. :D Loving my macbook pro hence wanting a second mac!
