Does anyone know if Apple generally uses 1 single SSD or multiple SSD’s for the 2+ TB configurations?

I’m either going to get an 8 core iMac pro or a maxed out 27” I7

It’s going to be used for audio production so I like to have a separate drive for SoundCloud libraries. If they raid 2 drives together for the 2&4 tb versions I’m thinking of just going with that and then using them as separate drives... then I could just get an external enclosure and put a magnetic disk in there for backup.

If it’s a single drive I’ll probably just stick with the 1tb and then build an external raid 5,6,10 setup for my audio disk... I’m kind of hoping it’s 2 separate drives because the internal drives are faster and I don’t need a backup drive to be fast.

Does anyone know how the 2tb drive works on the current iMac? I know it must have 2 slots because fusion is an option... but on on the 2tb is it 1 2tb drive or 2 1’s?

The 1TB and 2TB SSDs on the iMac are single units. Not sure if 4TB is available in M.2 format so the iMac Pro might possibly use two 2TB units. Looking at the internals, there appear to possibly be two SSDs - one to either side of the AC plug input and under the main heat sink.
