Long story short, our company has iMac Pro's in the office. We took the bases off and put VESA mounts on them. IT just bought us home units that were standard iMacs. They bought us VESA versions and our home desks don't have arms for VESA. We have the iMac pro bases at the office so can those be swapped out onto our new iMacs? Or do we need to send these machines back and wait another month to get new ones sent out?

Thank you.

Why not just get vesa stands? Many are pretty cheap and can bolt through the desk, clamp on the desk or wall mount. Many are also free standing with weighted bases.

Here is a free standing style stand. Which should handle the IMP. A few users are using them with iMacs.

I couldn't answer about the conversion. I thought I read once that the factory VESA mount can't just be returned to a standard stand. I think it's different than the aftermarket VESA adapter kit. That's just a vague recollection though. I would not say that is definitive. However, just using a VESA stand seems a lot easier with a lot less guess work.
