Am I the only one that is having their iMP randomly reboot? It is especially during sleep, but could also happen randomly just while browsing. The crash report always references Bridge OS and seems to point to the Arm processor. Every time it reboots, usually my Pegasus does not remount and my external monitor drops offline. As such, iTunes changes it's library location back to the internal and other settings get reverted so it's more of a PITA than just rebooting.

Also after rebooting or waking, the keyboard and mouse get very sluggish/erratic for a bit.

It seems to be fine after running for awhile, I can push it hard for several hours without issue, but doing light duty it might reboot at any given time. But then after it goes to sleep, about 3/4 of the time I wake it, it has restarted.

It is a base model purchased from the local Apple store, so I guess it's pretty simple to just exchange it. I went by there this AM to try to speak with a "Genius" but the store was a zoo with literally dozens and dozens of folks getting batteries replaced.

Something that makes me wonder is that my nMP had also started randomly rebooting almost constantly (10 or more X a day) about three weeks ago even with nothing connected and a clean install. It started with the 10.13.2 upgrade, but still did it when I reverted back to 10.12.6.

I had a previous high-end iMac and it did this strange reboot at times. I never figured out what caused it. I've since sold this iMac and now have the late 2013 MP6,1 and it exhibits the same behavior at times running Sierra and High Sierra. It very weird IMO. I suspect there's a lingering bug in macOS that Apple is struggling trying to figure out what causes this. I've reported it to Apple for the iMac, the MP6,1 and quite likely will also report it for my iMac Pro when I receive it.

Now, on my 15" MBP13,3 I've not seen this issue so I'm suspecting it related to desktop workstations and not the laptop models.

I've had a reboot here and there over the years, but these have been very frequent. The 2013 MP has been rock solid for almost 4 years until last month, then the reboots started maybe ten times a day.

With this new machine is the exception when it sleeps and wakes normally rather than rebooting. Add another three or four randon reboots to that and it's completely unacceptable. But since I don't see anyone else complaining, I am going through the erase/restore process and will just swap it out.

I had the same problem with my MBP 2016 15" - and I think it was because one of the following was attached: Drobo 5D/LG 5K/Scarlett audio interface. Since plugging them into the iMP the MBP has behaved perfectly. Oddly it hasn't happened with the iMP at all. All started with High Sierra. Maybe not really that helpful or scientific but I have a feeling that High Sierra doesn't play as nice with external devices.

Why haven't you taken it back and demanded another?

I was double-checking to make sure it's not one of my peripherals/apps causing it. It's also a PITA to swipe everything and physically return it.

I did take it back tonight and got another one. I guess we will see how it goes. BTW, didn't have to "demand" anything, just brought it in and they immediately issued a refund, even before I got them to understand that I just wanted to swap it. Our store is such a zoo, made even worse by the frenzy of people in to get their battery replaced. Trick is to always go to the store after 8PM when the crowd has gone.

Just wonder will the Mac restart itself if you use it without signing in any iCloud account?
