Hello everyone, so I'm only passingly interested in eGPU stuff as they stand for now on MacOS, but it occurred to me that they might provide essentially an external PCIe lane for upgrading an iMac's graphics capabilities down the road, on the internal monitor.
My understanding of the limitation of running on the internal monitor is that TB3 doesn't give full PCIe speeds, which gimps the performance gains. Would it be possible for a dual-channel TB3 connection to be able to reach those speeds though, and thus make upgrades worthwhile even on an iMac Pro in a generation or two of GPU advancement?
