I'm looking for a feedback from people than tried both systems and do mostly graphic design / front-end development.
I need to get a new machine still this year - (taxes) so I was looking at refurbished base model Pro for approx. €4700 and fully spec regular iMac with i9, VEGA and 1TB SSD which is just over €4k.
I'm curious about the overall performance, noise level and how do Adobe apps behave - from those who tried both of course.
I currently use original 5k model with base i5, Radeon 295X with 2GB and updated Ram to 32gb. Overall still pretty snappy machine but it starts to show its age when working with complex illustrations or transforming big images in Photoshop. GPU hits 100%, fans spin like crazy and UI gets choppy.
I would like to keep the machine for another 5-6 years so longevity is also a deciding factor. I know the Pro is bit dated already but the internals seem to be suited for longer usage.
