Shining a light on my new iMac Pro screen to check for accidental sneeze spray showed several micro scratches in the anti reflective coating. The screen has never been touched, even by a microfibre cloth. The screen would have had to come with these marks already on it.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

Thankfully I can’t see the marks while the screen is on, or really at all unless there’s a very bright light shone directly on the micro scratches...so it’s not a big deal. I’m leery to do anything about it (ie, call Apple) because the back-lighting on the screen is perfect with very little bleed, and the colour consistency across the screen is also excellent. Still, I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed such markings?

Had the same Problem with my brandnew iMac 27“ ordered from Apple around christmas. It had a big scratch over 3 cm and a few small ones. I had to wait over two weeks to get a replacement without any excauses.

Seems this could be a usual thing then. Unfortunately I’m outside my two week return window, and Apple would likely just want to do a “repair”, which would mean replacing the screen. I’m not prepared to do that, as like I said, the screen is pretty much perfect in every way.

I went to the local Apple Store to look at their demo iMac Pro and it too had these same micro scratches in the anti reflective coating. Disappointing.

I am sure more units sold have the issue as well; people probably just haven’t looked. I wouldn’t have even noticed if I didn’t sneeze near the computer.
