Recently got our iMac Pro back from apple for screen repair, went to change out from table stand to put our vesa mount back on (we use a wall arm) - and the receiver piece suddenly retracted back in, trying to pull it out while engaging the lock doesn't help and sort of out of ideas

last resort will be sending it back to apple

I see enough of these posts to think that a Vesa mount on the iMac Pro is just not a good idea.

The pictures show that there appears to be some physical marks in trying to deal with the problem.

OP, sorry you're dealing with this, hopefully its been resolved. :(

Agree with maflynn (insofar as any future buyers are concerned):
iMac on its own stand = yes.
iMac with VESA = NO.

I've done it many times. It's not that bad, but if the mount pops back in, it's no fun to get it back out. I love having my iMac off the desk though. I got an Ergotech Freedom arm in yesterday, but Apple/Fedex seems to have misplaced the adapter. Guess I paid for overnight on both for nothing.
