I need to get a few 4GB external SSDs for my Late 2017 8-Core 3.2 iMac Pro. I want to get the fastest external SSD I can support. I'm currently trying to decide between a Samsung T7 SSD with 1050 MB/s or a T9 with 2000 MB/s read speeds or maybe even something I haven't even considered. Suggestions appreciated.

What's the maximum transfer speed I can expect from my iMac Pro with Thunderbolt 3 ports? I think it's something ridiculous, like 40 Gbps.

Thanks!

WD PCIe-4.0 NVMe ads claim roughly seven-fold the T7 speeds, but you will need an appropriate enclosure.
