I have been waiting for apple to update the imac, I have noticed that the pirce have change (droped) and was look at them. I want a 24 inch imac. But i not sure if there had been an update. I looked at the guide and it said update comming soon. Can anyone give me some advice on what going on? (note i been using pc for years) I want the imac because iam sick of waiting for the pc to start. My son has a mac portable and his job use pc which he doesn't like. I also understand bluetooth 2.1 should be in the new imac, any one have a commit on this. When should the update be? Sorry for long post. Just been waiting.

thanks to all who respond.;)

The current belief is that the iMac will be updated next Tuesday. The reasoning is that Intel is aggressivly trying to stop making 65nm processors (which are used in the mini and iMac, and the reason for the update yesterday of the MacBook, instead of just the MBP). Considering Apple traditionally uses the same chips for wireless communication across the entire line, it is likely that BT2.1 will be included along with the 802.11n.

Do you believe the update is worth waiting for if someone finds the current iMac specs as perfectly suitable for them? Are the new processors going to make THAT much of an impact?

Probably not. If you're buying an iMac, performance isn't your driver: otherwise you'd buy a MacPro.
