imac ram help !!!!

ok so i ordered 4GB of ram for my imac just bought yesterday and i didn't realize it is for the older macs that shipped with tiger but i got the one with leopard

so do you think the ram for the old macs will work for this new mac or should i return it

its this one:


4GB kit (2GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module

any help on this

OS is MEANINGLESS.

If you have the right number of pins and the right speed, it will work.

but the one is ordered PC2-5300 and the one on the site for the new macs is PC2-6400

so do you think it will get the same speed or should i return it

Yeah, you need to return it.

it will still work fine, but u can return it and get the PC6400 one if u want to
