OK, so I want to buy a 2 GB stick for my C2D 24" iMac. Easy enough if I lived in a Mac-friendly country. But Korea is not such a place.
In this city of 3 million (Daegu) there is but one, small, understocked, service-stunted Apple dealer. "No 2 GB RAM, can't get one." (determined after making one phone call).
I'll have to order off the internet or go to Seoul.
My problem is that none of the Seoul RAM dealers will be able to honestly verify compatibility with iMacs.
On the main internet price list site, there are several, slightly different options for DDR2 PC2-5300 667 MHz So-Dimm (200 pin for notebooks).
i.e. I can buy:
a Dreamware PC2-5300,
or a Dreamware PC2-5300 C,
or a Dreamware PC2-5300 H,
or a Hynix PC2-5300 S (the most widely available type, and the brand Apple supplied with my iMac),
or a Transcend PC2-5300,
or a GSkill PC2-5300 SA
So, what is the difference between a PC2-5300, C, H, S, SA?
