I bought this iMac September of last year, shortly after the new Core 2 Duo models were announced. I got it with 2 Gigs of RAM (2x1GB sticks) and in the coming weeks I plan to upgrade it's RAM. The question is, should I buy one 2 gig stick and have a total of 3 gigs? Or should I splurge and kind of waste my money on two 2 gig sticks for a total of 3.3 gigs (or whatever the chipset will allow)? If I get two 2 gig sticks I will be able to take advantage of dual channel though. Share your thoughts, any input is appreciated.

I explored this question when I bought my iMac back in June. Everything I read at the time suggested that the gains from dual channel on the iMac would be negligible (except on the base model with the built-in Intel graphics). I don't think 2x2 GB is worth the splurge under the circumstances.
