iMac ram upgrade HELP

I've recently bought an 20" imac with 1gb ram, but i wanted to upgrade it to 2gb. Have I to buy 2x 1gb ram or just 1x 1gb (because 1gb is already inside) ?

I believe the iMac you are talking about has 2 slots both with 512 mb of ram in them. So you will not be able to reuse them. You should get 2 1 gig sticks

also, if you're not sure how to manually upgrade it, there's plenty of decent video's of it on youtube...
should take no more than 5 mins though

Go to About this mac then more info then memory and it will tell you what is in each slot.

I'm just about to upgrade my mac with an extra 2gb to add to the 1 gb I have already. Does it matter which way round they go? i.e. does the 2gb have to go in the slot that is currently being used by the 1gb ram?
